Hi, I’m Jen.
I'm a pastel artist based on Maryland's Eastern Shore, specializing in pet portraits, landscapes, and meaningful still lifes. My artistic journey, which began in my Grandmother's studio, has been honed through formal education in Art & Design and a career that has always gravitated towards visual storytelling—from graphic design to wedding stationery to my current fine art endeavors.
After years of city living and globetrotting, I've found a new muse in the slower-paced life and natural beauty of the Chesapeake Bay region. This tranquil setting provides the perfect backdrop for my creative process, allowing me to delve deeper into each piece I create.
My style melds realism with artistic interpretation, using soft pastels and pencils to capture both the visual essence and emotional resonance of each subject.
Whether commemorating a beloved pet, preserving a cherished landscape, or translating the sentiment behind florals into art, I create handcrafted pieces that photographs can't—ones that resonate with the heart and narrate personal stories. From the mischievous glint in a dog's eye to the play of light on a favorite hiking trail or the delicate petals of memory-laden flowers, I aim to distill the special qualities that make each subject uniquely meaningful.
In each piece, I strive to create personalized artwork that resonates with cherished memories and emotions, transforming moments into lasting treasures. It's not just about what you see—it's about how you feel when you see it.
